LUXURY GALAPAGOS TO MACHU PICCHU PERU
Day 1 (Monday) - Quito Arrival in Quito , reception and transfer to the Marriott Hotel in Quito
Day 2 (Tuesday) - Quito Tour After breakfast, a full guided tour in private, of Quito . The tour will include; the Plaza de la Independencia the Parque Alameda , The Plaza de San Francisco , La Compañia, the markets, and the “Middle of the world monument”
Day 3 (Wednesday) Quito – San Christobal – Cerro Brujo – Bartolome Island Transfer to Quito airport at around 7am for your 9am flight to the Galapagos Islands to join your cruise for the next 8 days aboard the Galapagos Explorer II on a Balcony Suite.
Upon arrival, all travelers must clear an airport inspection point to ensure that no foreign plants or animals are introduced to the islands and to pay the park entrance fee of USD100. You will then be transferred to the harbour and board ‘Pangas”, motorised crafts which will take you to the Explorer.
Itineraries for the explorer are subject to change, but a typical itinerary is as follows:-
Day 4 - Bartolome Island – Puerto Egas , Santiogo Island
Day 5 - Punta Espinosa – Fernandina – Isabela Island – Punta Vincente Roca Day 6 - North Seymour Island – Santa Cruz
Day 7 - Islas Lobos – Interpretation center
Day 8 - Espanola Island – Punta Suarez – Charles Station – Puerto Ayora
Today we will encounter many sea lion colonies and numerous blue-footed boobies. Transfer to the airport for the flight back to the mainland for your return flight to Quito
Day 11 - Quito to Lima Transfer to the airport and fly to Lima , Capital of Peru. Transfer to the Miraflores Park Plaza Hotel.
Day 12 Lima This tour takes you on a private guided visit of colonial and modern Lima . Return to your hotel .
Day 13 - Lima to Cuzco Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco high in the Andes and book into the Architectural Museum Monasterio Hotel . Afternoon private guided visit of the four ruins nearby, starting with the Sacsayhuaman Fortress which overlooks the town of Cuzco, a pre Inca architectural masterpiece. Return to your hotel for dinner and a folkloric show.
Day 14 - Sacred valley to Ollantaytambo Full -day excursion to the beautiful Urubamba , the Sacred Valley of the Inca situated between Pisac and Ollantaytambo. We then visit the village of Pisac and head out to to Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town which was not defeated by the Spanish. Transfer to your hotel in Cuzco .
Day 15 - Cuzco to Machu Picchu Sanctuary Transfer to the Poroy station to board the 09h00 Hiram Bingham luxury train to the town of Aguas Calientes and then transfer to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu .
A private guided tour of the marvellous citadel, visiting the Main Plaza , the Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows, the Circular Tower and the Sacred Sun Dial and Burial Grounds. Overnight at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge.
Day 16 - Machu Picchu to Cuzco Option to visit the sanctuary again on your own. Transfer to the train station for the 18h15 journey back to Cuzco .
Day 17 - Cuzco to Puno Transfer to the railway station for the wonderful trans-altiplano Inca express to Puno, at an altitude of 3827m. Reception and transfer to Hotel Libertador .
Day 18 - Lake Titicaca and Taquile After breakfast, a tour by boat with private guide to the island's of Uros and Taquile on Lake Titicaca, the world's highest navigable lake. The islands of Uros, are m ade entirely of reeds and inhabited by the Aymara Uros people, who live in huts built on platforms of reeds. Lunch on the island of Taquile .
This morning we will head out early towards Juliaca and visit the Silluastani towers . After lunch, transfer to Juliaca airport for the return flight back to Lima arriving late afternoon.
Transfer to your Hotel where you will have a room available for you to refresh yourselves. Later, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
